Museum Bees are unique decorative objects of art we make by recycling antique picture frames. Located in Louisville, KY, we create these pieces by pairing the frames with small ornamental treasures.
They range in size from 1" to 6" and the majority of the frames are American and date from 1860 - 1880. Inside the frames are gilded ornaments such as horses, dogs, insects, ceramics, curiosities, and Antique objects. Big or small, Museum Bees retail for $55 each. Shipping is free on all purchases and we are happy to exchange any of our Museum Bees for another, if you change your mind.
Museum Bee creator, Trace Mayer, signs every Museum Bee and it with the initials of the current Kentucky Derby winner. This year is "N" for Nyquist. In Kentucky and for our Bees, the year begins on the first Saturday in May. We aim to create a unique luxury good that brings together a bit of affordable decadence for the home.
